ProvenanceAlbum of an unnamed German volunteer in the Condor Legion who served with the Nationalists during the Spanish Civil War. Photographs document parades of German, Nationalist and African troops in Vitoria as well as battle scenes elsewhere in Spain. Many images are of German weaponry, Spanish vehicles, armaments (including bombs and poison gas cylinders?) plus numerous aircraft (Ju 52, Dornier Do 17 E-1). There is one photograph of the June 1939 Condor Legion victory parade in Berlin's Lustgarten. Album concludes with photographs of the Battle of France (destroyed towns and rail lines, burning bus), barracks life, weddings, funerals and finally winter warfare (probably on the Eastern Front).
