ProvenanceThe third of five albums of an unnamed soldier (or soldiers) in Wehrmacht Artillery Regiment 109. Photographs document his service during the occupation of France. Of interest are pictures of the occupation forces, drills in unidentified French towns and cities, an unnamed cathedral, and a troop entertainment stage show. Album also contains an amusing series of staged photographs of soldiers celebrating while listening to the radio (perhaps to the announcement of the surrender of France, with and without gas masks). The regiment is then transferred east by rail via Trier. Some brief captions.
