ProvenanceAlbum of an unnamed young woman in the BDM (Bund Deutscher Mädel, League of German Girls). Photographs document her service in Schönheide, Illertissen, Blaubeuren, Lindenau and the Allgäu, illustrating friends, alpine walks, work details, sport and amateur theatre events and service as a casual farm labourer. Of interest is a visit to a Thingspielplätz (in either Heidelberg / Heiligenberg or Veste Oberhaus above Passau), one of the open-air theatres which were built by the Nazi régime for cultural events. Album also contains pictures of post-war reunions and a 1947 Kinderfest (children's festival).
A good album showing the militarised and regulated life of young women in the Nazi era.
