ProvenanceFirst album of Gerhard-Albrecht (Gerd) von Massow, WW1 veteran and commander of the Luftwaffe’s Jagdfliegerschulen (Fighter Schools) for much of WW2. Photographs document von Massow's WW1 service in the Bayerisches Infanterie-Regiment (7.Reserve-Jäger-Bataillon) on the Eastern Front: barracks and camp life, trenches, communications point, bunkers, naked soldiers, log cabins and graves (Dünaburg). Ephemera includes cartoon postcards. Captions.
