ProvenanceBritish (Anglo-Polish) WW2 Italian campaign presentation album prepared by General Władysław Anders, commander of the Polish II Corps in Italy, and dedicated to Lieutenant General Sir Oliver Leese, commander of the British Eighth Army. Photographs document Polish action in the capture of Monte Cassino and Piedimonte. Of note are images of advancing soldiers and artillery, Sherman tanks, destroyed buildings, the raising of the Polish flag above Monte Cassino, medical services and General Alexander. As there are few albums from any Allied participants, let alone Polish, this album is very rare. Captions.
