ProvenanceGerman WW2 Luftwaffe album of Walter Scherer, fighter and light bomber pilot. Photographs document his military and pilot training, illustrating camp life (in unidentified locations) and fellow pilots at 'scramble station' as well as many different aircraft types including Me 109s and Me 110s. There is also a purchased set of propaganda photographs of advancing German tanks, armoured vehicles and weapons. Album concludes with Scherer's internment in POW Camp 133 (Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada) and then Camp Braintree (Essex, UK) with photographs of the prisoners' band. Also contains personal POW letters dated February 1945 and October 1946.
