ProvenancePersonal album of an unnamed RAF serviceman spanning the years from his childhood in Bramhope (Leeds) and youthful service as an ARP (Air Raid Precautions) warden to his post-war wedding. The bulk of the photographs document his wartime years in North America, especially in Moncton, New Brunswick and Pensacola, Florida (Naval Auxiliary Air Station Saufley Field), with his training on U.S. Coast Guard, U.S.Navy and then RAF Catalinas. Other aircraft photographed include Naval Aircraft Factory N3N training biplanes, Vought OS2U Kingfishers and other Consolidated PBY Catalina versions. Album also documents his many road trips around rural Florida and Alabama as well as rail visits to New York, New Orleans, Boston, Detroit and Cincinnati plus Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City. Most photographs were processed in Florida and are stamped with date (1942) on verso. Captions.
