ProvenanceAlbum of unnamed USAF pilot and his fiancée (and later wife) documenting his training in the southern US (Texas or Kentucky), his many weekend outings with fellow pilot-officers and their partners, aircraft and airfield crews and his transfer to England. In Europe the photographs - which appear not to be arranged in chronoloogical order - record London's Victory celebrations (in Parliament Square, Piccadilly Circus and outside Buckingham Palace), bomb damaged streets and then at least one massed Consolidated B-24 Liberator bombing run over Cologne and other German cities. Album includes shots of aircraft interiors as well as aerial images of Liberators and a Spitfire in flight.
