ProvenanceA small group of photographs belonging to Gerhard-Albrecht (Gerd) von Massow, WW1 veteran and commander of the Luftwaffe’s Jagdfliegerschulen (Fighter Schools) for much of WW2. These photographs are from both WW1 and WW2: a dead airman, von Massow himself, graves and German soldiers at the Front in winter. Of particular interest is a very early German cloud study, photographed in 1917 and entitled "Over the Clouds".
