ProvenanceGreek pre-war, WW2 and post-war album of Ioannis Fytas, a Greek General. Photographs document his 1928 graduation and WW2 operations during the Italian and German occupation of Greece. Of note are portraits of Fytas on horseback, in the mountains, with a radio, in front of a crashed Italian Savoia Machetti bomber and with groups of fellow servicemen. Also includes snapshots of British officers (c.1940) and a post-war military ceremony (c.1956). Greek military albums are rare.
